I just put up several quarts of good tight coho roe. Using my method from the video, once again these photos are testament to the qaulity of bait that can be put up in the way I show in the video...Video was produced in 2006 by us {PGP]

Splish Splash, A dunk in the tub! Before I cure these I remove all blood from the eggs and pat them off. I butterfly cut them open but after I lightly sprinkle the cure inside I gently fold them back over and place them in a tub or bag. After they soak and cure I remove them and dry them....if IM short on time I drain them off, and then bag them for the night...in most case they will plump up nice over night in the bag just like they would in a jar.

Drying on paper towels over news paper...If done this way the "plumping" occures over night after you cut them into 4 inch squares and place them in quart jars. The juice from the cut eggs soaks back into the rest of the eggs in the jar. This is also known as the "double cure" method you have heard tale of. Eggs in these photos are done both ways and turn out about the same with the jar method eggs being a bit richer and more wet.

Ready to cut and jar, cut into 4 or 5 inch squars and place in jars, flip a few times for 24 hours before you freeze.

Label these jars so you know what your fishing next spring. These will last and fish up to 3 or 4 years if stored correctly. No need to vaccum pack, just fill the jar leaving little room for air.
Check out this video if you would like to have a try at this! :p
