OK... It didn't take me long to get here... been shooting archery for 1 year and considering making the switch to carbon arrows... Any suggestions on brand/model for hunting?

I am shooting a compound, 30" draw and will crank it up to 60# (max rating for bow). Shooting Easton 2216 with 100gr tips and blazers. Using a WB rest... considering drop-away.

I have not chrono'd my aluminum's but expecting somewhere around 250. I am shooting a 4" pattern at 40 yards, 8" at 50 and grounding out at 60. My hope with carbons is to increase the speed, flatten out the trajectory and increase range/accuracy. So, I am hoping to be able to shoot 60 yards with confidence (looking at a caribou hunt in the fall where 60 is the standard shot).

So, let me know what you think on this...

Cheers

I would recommend Carbon Arrows any day. Gold Tip carbon arrows are probably the cheapest you can get. You can still use 100 gr. broad heads. I use the Muzzy 100. Carbon arrows are great. They stay straight and a are lot lighter, which means faster arrow flight.

Thanks for the post. Which GT model do you shoot? Are you concerned with the straightness factor (i.e. .001 or .006 etc)? What do you use for fletching?
