Why is the site down so much during the day? The front page can be accessed all the time but the forum goes down all the time.

Or is it my boss trying to get me to work more???

Do you get any specific error messages? I'm guessing it's your works connection.

At my work I occasionally get a DNS not found error but I think that's my work stuff not working 100%

I'll double check but if memory serves me it says address not found, blah blah blah. it happens at home also so i dont think its connections (and I can get on other sites for business)

Like i mentioned, i can get on the front screen and look at videos, links and such, but not into the forum section.

I'm on here all day from home and have never had any issuse with being able to get on, so I'm thinking it is the being at work thing.

Some people report common problems. In an attempt to resolve this issue we have purchased additional hosting and are doing a few tests. We should have it switched over at some point but Chrissy is pretty busy right now so I will wait for her on this.

We of course apologize for these problems but one thing we have noted that may help if your having this problem is to visit the site at night when the pipes seem to be a bit faster.

Thanks for staying with us, we will fix this issue one way or another : )

Sounds to me like the IT guru at work has you blocked out of being able to log into some types of websites in an attempt to keep you working on things having to do with work...

Nah, it's a funky DNS issue. I just got it 10 seconds ago.

tried to go to www.northwestfishing.info and that gave me the "Bad Gateway" error with further explaination of a DNS problem.....so I then took the www. off and went to http://northwestfishing.info and connected to the site. :D Sometimes that works, sometimes it doesn't.

Here's the error I get and it's only at work where I get it.

Bad Gateway
The following error occurred:
[code=DNS_HOST_NOT_FOUND] The host name was not found during the DNS lookup. Contact your system administrator if the problem is not found by retrying the URL.

I rarely can get on during the day???? Maybe it is a bandwidth issue? Too many users on at any given time? Some times, it goes for a couple of days and then I can get in.

When this happens, I check the Small Stream Salmon Fishing Site and get in no problems, even try the link on the site to enter the forum and no-go.

So, I am not convinced it is a work related issue.

Do you get the same error I'm getting? If so, it's the web hosting service for the board, or more specifically their DNS servers.

The SSSF Site is at a far better host and it ALWAYS comes up for everyone.....The forum is moving soon! YAY!....please stay with us!

The forum host site is your issue, because it is in Canada, there simply must be to many gateways for the simple connection to work right...or customs..but something is blocking

O well, time to move on, please stay with us while we make the changes during December

Been there from the beginning and will stay to the end, my good friend. No worries... looking forward to skipping Canada and getting to the real host!

Cheers

So is there a large monetary output to keep my web surfing issues an all day event?

I get it to, I found that if I log into my works VPN I can usually get on with out a hassle but if I don't have the VPN on something keeps me out. When I am work, I am in my work van using my laptop. Strange how that works.

Rollin, my VPN locks me out also, but my IT guy explained it as a porthole that is opened to the company and if you allow both the VPN and normal internet to be running others can hack into the shops mainframe.

I told him to figure out how to make both work and pushed him back into his dark office full of Cheetos and pizza boxes.
