Hey everyone!

Just thought I'd drop you a line and let you know I'm not dead... yet! haha...

I just started my winter term here at Oregon State... Nice to see OSU get off yet ANOTHER WIN against USC in basketball! Woo go Beavs!

In other news, I'm taking a few extra curriculars this term along with my biology, math and history classes... one of them is group guitar! :D I just had the first class tonight and I'm really stoked for what I'm going to learn over the term (for any of you that know guitar, I'm learning all 5 major scale forms, as well as 3 chord primers, all while fingerpicking). My teacher has been playing for 43+ years and is really a funny guy and amazing guitarist. So that's cool...

And then my other extra curricular, which is of more interest to you guys, is Fly Fishing I! It is being taught by Michael Gorman, who runs a fly fishing guide service here in Oregon. In the first two classes I've been to so far I have already learned a LOT of awesome information, and he's going to teach us everything about the terminal tackle basics, how to do different casts, as well as tying flies. You know you've got a pretty cool class when one of the required projects is to actually go fishing and give a report!

Anyways, just thought I'd let you guys know whats up, and hope your winter steelhead fishing seasons are going well! I know a lot of rivers are still very blown out, but hopefully that will change soon! I haven't socialized with anyone yet in my Fly Fishing class but that's going to change soon, so hopefully I'll find another dedicated steelhead fisherman to hit the Alsea and Siletz with!

Cheers and tight lines :) ~ Teddy

Wow you are so very lucky! Imagine having classes like that.....Guitar and fly fishing.....Least it will keep school fun. I want to learn finger picking tooooo....I can play 12 string but I cant finger pick....Now imagine finger picking that harp guitar like Andy McKee.......I can only imagine.

For sure... Andy McKee has quickly become probably my favorite classical guitarist, and he fingerpicks like a champ... I can only hope that one day I'll reach his level! But it all starts here. Its not easy to learn! Its pretty painful (thumb's got a blister already, which will hopefully turn into a callus) but its sooo satisfying once you get something down with it. I'm pretty close to getting the E form Major Scale down :D
