As you may or may not know already Windows vista has been a sort of choppy operating system that seems to run perfect on some computers while draining the life speed right out of it. In response windows did this big trick the public and show em thing called "Windows Mohave Experiment"

They told people to try the new operating system {Windows Mohave} on these pre-setup computers and said they are trying the new windows system. After the people would offcourse say how great this new deal was and the windows guy would then tell the people "Did you know this is actually Windows Vista?" and the people would have the shock & awe look on their face. http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windows-vista/mojave.aspx

Here in the studio we go through computers at least 1 a year and currently have 2 with vista. One of them runs very good while the other has a few bugs.
.
I was thinking that if anyone else here has seen some of these bugs we can share them and see if anyone else knows a fix, update or patch.

One of the biggest bugs I have is that the computer has trouble switching between windows while multi tasking. Sometimes it will jump on its own and other times it will not hardy go until you click on the bottom windows bar to re-align the stars or something. I have gone through many mice so I know thats not the issue. I will list some other issues as I come across them again.

Sometimes these bugs are not operating system related but appear so. Can be virus related or even something as simple as an old bad auto clicking mouse.

Whats your bug?
Know any fixes for theirs?

Matt our computer uses Vista and for a while it was not preforming all that well. Windows Vista is set with a mountain of factory settings that are automatically opend and run during use. There are probably thirty to fourty thhings you could turn off that are unecessary. I can't remember the site but I will try to locate it. I was sure impressed with the impact that it made.

I know a whole new operating system is a big expense, and a giant chore to replace. But I replaced Vista with an older OS...XP Media Center. I run Reason 3.0, and even a few other high drain programs, and the only issue I have...Is that I need more RAM, otherwise it runs prety much perfectly. I do keep the system moderately clean. Regular de-frags, high end virus protetction/detection. But it works well. Does your Vista ever prevent your media drives from opening? It did on mine, and a few friends report the same thing. I have heard that it is an indicator of a worm program.
