and not in a good way. I've got a lil spot I've been plunking from the last two days on the big C. I get to sit and watch everything trolling around I5 and smile and wave. Can't say I did much of that today.

Couple hours into things I go to rebait for my 3rd time. Not really knowing what i'm doing, i've been alternating between shrimp & eggs and anchovies on a mooching rig.

I just start into my cast and *SNAP*

Doh. That's what a blown up Lami Surf King looks like. I felt sick. Never broke a rod, and certainly not while casting.

I pack everything up, run home to grab my receipt, and take my busted up, 3 week old rod to Lamiglas. They tell me right away that I broke it because it wasn't seated, and it snapped under load because that area isn't made to take any type of load. BS. I mark my rods so that I can see when they're seated (lower mark is gone completely). I wet things down before I put them together. There's no arguing with them, and they take the last $35 i had to give me a new half of a rod. Joy.

Only got another hour or so of fishing in before i had to call it done... lame...

Definitely wasn't impressed by anything today, especially Lamiglas customer service...

Ouch Issac! There was just probably a little nick in the Graphite that caused it to break, certainly by no fault of your own. I wonder why they said that area was not designed to be load bearing? The whole freakin rod is a load bearing tool! Rods should disperse the load evenly, and that would mean that the area where the two halves come together would have to support a load as well. I have been dealing with Molly as of late, and she has always been super nice to me. Always helpful, and never second guesses the incident. She has asked what happened, but never told me something that seems to be impossible to prove, just by a simple glance. Hope it pans out for you better in the future man.

Hey man things like that happen ;), Just today one of the guys i fish with forgot to remove his pole from his solid steel holder before setting the hook. And he discovered the lower 6 inches of his handle had cracked from the butt of his rod up. You will get used to your rod overtime. I love lamis for drifting, but I personally prefer custom one piece rods such as a harnel (now harington) for any type of plunking . Simply due to the fact they last forever, and you never need to worry about breakage or fractures. It totally depends on preference and application . Anyhow its no fun to have your equipment break or not function. The more time you put in fishing anywhere, the more you learn and the more efficient, patient and relaxed you become. That's just my 2 cents. take it or leave it. All is well man. You will get into some action hopefully sooner rather than later.

I have one of those Harnell 756's wrapped into a 10 foot bobber rod for working 3 to 5 oz bobber systems......I agree it is prolly unbreakable..
