Very cool! You do it a whole lot more than myself, and others I know do. But the few people I actually get into their first experience with a particular species is rewarding for both involved. I sure take pride, and it is very clear that you do Ed, not many guides smile as big as you do when holding a fish reeled up by a client. Its refreshing. Nice lid too.

There is nothing that says "thanks!" better than the guest sending pics!
Nice fish and great pictures.
Here are some observations about this pic that I really, really appreciate that may be instructive for folks hoping to release a beaut like this:
- First and most obvious, the fish is well supported and no fingers in the gills (or even near the gills for that matter!)
- Notice the water dripping from the fins and from Ed's hands; very clear that the camera and photographer was ready before the fish was taken out of the water. It was held up, and the pic taken quickly (but very nicely, I might add) and the fish is still fresh and ready to be put back in for another day.
- Finally, take a look at the fish's eye. Notice that it is peering downward? This is a clear indication that the fish still has brain activity. Those images where the eye is looking straight sideways are usually a poor sign of the fish's survivability.
Again, great job with the image and with handling the fish.
Cheers
The smiles on both of your faces says a lot. Looks like an incredible time and beautiful fish.
Nice job Ed, I bet that sure is a great feeling to get someone into their first chromer... Congratulations.![]()
