Thread: Dodge to Oxbow photos

  1. Default Dodge to Oxbow photos

    Howdy,

The guy I took Friday had a cool camera with a GPS hookup. If you enter it into a program he has it puts it on a google map 'trip photo log' thing that you won't believe. Ain't technology amazing? Only problem is the lighting isn't the greatest due to the rain and that was a skunk day, so there are no fish pics. It still has some amazing stuff, though. Check it out here:

The trick is to use the key to your left to zoom in. When you get it right, the 'balloons' are spaced out so you can click them individually. The heaviest water isn't in the pics, 'cuz he put the camera away. There's still plenty to see, though.

Thanks to Mike for taking the pics! We had a good time. He deserved some fish, they just weren't there for us. He wants to do Rev. down soon, so the fish karma is gonna be good to him, I can feel it!

That is pretty incredible. I hope he can turn the GPS feature off when the fishing is good though!

    Hamfish,

Go to pic # 1010849 and tell me if you recognize that spot!

He took that pic just for you.

What amazing photos! Don't get to see that stretch of water very often.

Quick question for ya Ed: Is that section of river even accessible for the average dough-ball like myself, or is it float trip/private property only?

    Thanks.

    Great job as usual!

    uofodux,

there are private access spots along the way, but I rarely see anyone there. There are also a few places to hike in, but I rarely see anyone at those spots, too, so maybe they are hard to find or loooong hikes? I, personally, have never tried to access those areas, so I don't know.

The real problem with that area is the amount of water. There are so many places that look good that rarely hold fish. You have to know where to concentrate your efforts.
