Thread: Clip from Outdoors GPS, Northwest Fishing Mastery, shrimp rigging

  1. Thumbs up Clip from Outdoors GPS, Northwest Fishing Mastery, shrimp rigging

This is the short clip Bitsy Kelley ran on Outdoors GPS on Sunday. The footage is older, from another shrimp rigging video we produced in 2007. This clip is only 1:30 long. New Northwest Fishing Mastery series.....

Does this mean the end for "Short Reels"? It is possible since these shorter to the point clips may also be run in larger productions from time to time. I ran this clip from our new studio setup, this is the first production so far. At least we are back up and rolling again, still working on music. Enjoy!

:55 seconds. Tell that to the shrimp!

Seriously though, I love this method anytime that I'm using hooks big enough. I wish I could do this with 1/0 hooks. It's so much better than using a bait threader.

You can do this with 1/0.....just choose your shrimp closely if possible

I'm pretty sure I've seen Matthew do this with 1/0's.

I'm sure it's do able if you've got nimble fingers, I just cant get it to work nearly as well with a 1/0 as I can with a 5/0.

    Default Definitely...

It sure is a cool way of rigging up a shrimpy. I am going to be trying that on the winter steelies this year.

I remember when the video first came out. That video rocked my shrimp n eggs world. One of many very informal videos that helped a lot of people hook more fish. Thanks again. RRF

GW, it is really easy, just look for smaller shrimp [if you can] and just be a little more careful while you tweak it up the leader....the trick is really in pushing the head while pulling the tail so size of hook is not so much the issue, try it out, you can get used to it......I dont think you would have t much luck with a giant male shrimp and a 1/0 hook

So awesome Matt! Really cool stuff to share with the rest of the fishing world that hopefully will teach a rookie (or maybe a vet) or two a few edges they can put on their game for getting more fish. Definitely what SSSF is all about...

And I think the Northwest Fishing Mastery template came out awesome too. I think that this could be a great addition to replace the old Short Reels. They were helpful while they lasted but I think NFM is the way to go for the future The music came out great as well.
